Margold and Marnero Tomatoes

This year we are growing a couple new varieties of tomatoes developed by a seed company we love, Johnnys Selected Seeds. They have the appearance and flavor of heirlooms but are more disease resistant and higher yielding. Marnero will ripen to a deep rose color and keep the green shoulders.  Margold will ripen to a yellow with red marbling. They are growing in our hoophouse so we were able to plant well before the final frost. Mid June is earliest we’ve ever had tomatoes! We hope our success with these tomatoes continues and our yields increase as the season progresses.
