Farm News

We are in the thick of our busy season where all aspects of farming still require our attention from seeding to weeding to fertilizing to harvesting. The greenhouse was empty for a brief day a few weeks ago but now is starting to fill back up with all of our fall crops. In addition to daily harvests for CSA and markets we are undertaking some bulk harvests for things that store like carrots or things that get harvested all at once like garlic. Tomatoes need to be tied, fertilizer injected into drip tape lines, irrigation needs set up, something is ready to plant every week, and everything needs to be weeded constantly! In other words we are super busy!

Just keep on seeding!

We hope you can make it out to our CSA member event this week! And have a chance to see the farm in person – not just through pictures. (details in last week’s blog)

Enjoy the fruits of our labor! I know we are!

Recipes

Sweetcorn Salsa with Parsley (I used sweet onion instead of garlic and added some chopped tomatoes)

Cauliflower Colcannon (since the cauliflower is small use all of your portion. Use sweet onion in place of green onions)

Grilled Vegetable Sandwich

Creamy Jalapeno Coleslaw

Coming Up Next Week (our best guess……..) Cabbage, Salad Mix, Basil, Celery, Garlic, Tomatoes, Tomatillos, Sweet Corn, Peppers, and more!
