CSA extended Season Week 4

This Week’s Harvest

Washing kohlrabi for the box

Farm News

This delivery concludes our 2023 CSA season! Thanks for joining us this season! Our hope is that you have increased the amount of vegetables in your diet, tried new recipes with success, and discovered Mile Creek vegetables taste better than grocery store counterparts! If you are sad to see the season come to end you’ll be glad to know that we will have enough variety  left over to offer a bulk sale the end of January! I’ll be sending info about that via email and social media in a few weeks.

Harvesting spinach for the box

Another way we can stay in touch this off season is through blog posts which I plan to do throughout the winter and also a film screening of Food Chains at the Neon Theater right here in Dayton on Sunday Jan 14th. OEFFA is hosting screenings and discussions of various agriculture related films throughout Ohio this winter and spring. The movie showing in Dayton, Food Chains, centers on exploitative farm labor practices in a major agriculture hub of the country. I will be on a panel with other experts after the documentary for a deeper discussion of farm labor and actionable steps we can take for change.  It will be awesome to see our customers there! As members of our CSA, you are already showing you care about how and who produces your food!

For more info and to register visit: http://action.oeffa.com/film-screening-series/

The Neon is hosting the first in this series so if you enjoy it and want to see more or can’t make it, check out the other film screenings in the same link above.
