June just came crashing in this year! April and May were a steady build up of work on the farm but the last 2 weeks of May we had very long to do lists, added a couple members to the crew, and got through them all. We’ve of course been planting and weeding and seeding, but we also repainted the pack barn this spring, updated the way we prep the fields and make raised beds, and had our our annual plant sale! In between all that there are little but time consuming tasks like putting shade cloth on our greenhouse so we don’t get alerts that it’s over 100˚ in there!
Spring season is seeding season. We have weekly seeding that needs to be done.
Ben does regular tractor maintenance in the Spring.
This year spring cleaning included a new paint job in the pack shed where we wash and pack all the vegetables
It was so windy when we needed to water our seedlings that a couple beds didn’t get hit by our sprinkler. This meganet line that waters a few beds at a time comes to the rescue- but also takes time to install!

The mound of dirt around the potato plant is called hilling and builds a place for the tubers to grow and helps knock down weeds.
This field shows our plasticulture beds which help with weed management and moisture control, landscape fabric install in between the beds, and row cover which is protecting our baby zucchini and cucumbers from pests.
Finally time for the favorite part- harvesting!
Thanks for joining us this season! We are excited to help you bring nutritious and delicious food to your tables!
