Farm News January- 2025

  • Our first vegetable delivery of 2025 may be a few months away, but now is the time to sign up for our CSA! We have constantly sold out since 2020 so keep that in mind! CSA sign up is online.
  • This weekend is the MetroParks annual CSA Fair. On Sunday from 1 to 3 we will be set up in the pavilion of 2nd Street Market, along with other area CSAs, talking about our program. We will have brochures and other info and delicious carrots to taste! So if you’d like to hear about the program in person come on out! (We will NOT have vegetables for sale at this event like we have in the past)
  • Longtime employee Audrey’s Brinkman’s Art Show is up at the Yellow Springs Brewery until February 16. So far I’ve taken my mom, daughter and sister. Audrey is a talented artist and I love her nature themed pieces! Check it out!
  • I’m loving my winter hours, which better reflect a typical work week than summer hours do, but can’t believe January is almost over! Seeds and supplies are ordered, CSA communication to customers has begun, a project of getting every vegetable we grow cataloged on the website is nearly complete. I have a list of office tasks as well as field and pack barn tasks I’d love to complete before we start seeds the third week in February! It definitely needs to warm up some before I think about setting foot outside, so I’ll keep plugging away at the computer in the meantime.
The best part about winter is our family vacation. We love the Red River Gorge for this time away!
Winter delivery of sweet potatoes to a wholesale partner. Sweet potatoes are about the only vegetable left on the farm from last season.
This winter has been snowy and cold, which the kids don’t mind!

Hope winter is treating you well! This time of rest and rejuvenation helps us get ready for next season! Can’t wait!
