This Week’s Harvest
Cucumbers (green slicing and salt and pepper)
Zephyr Summer Squash
Raspberries (For some pick up sites only. Our berries are just starting to come on and will make the rounds to all the pick up sites and home delivery over the next month)
Ginger Gold and Molly’s Delicious
While not technically fall yet, it sure feels like the seasons are changing. Last week brought the start of school, cooler days, and earlier sun sets. For the farm this means fall crops are starting to show up in the CSA boxes. This week we have the first of our fall brassicas (kale) and winter squash (delicata).
The shorter days are nice in theory but we still have a lot to get done this time of year. We’ve had a tractor with head lights for 2 years now and they certainly get used! While the work load remains heavy, we are slowly ticking off jobs. The greenhouse is officially empty! Our final planting of lettuce came out today and is getting acclimated before it gets planted out later this week. I’m really glad I don’t have to water in the greenhouse anymore! One less thing to think about is very welcome!
Lebanese Green Beans and Tomatoes (use 5 to 7 fresh tomatoes in place of canned and Dragon Tongue Beans in place of green beans)
Dilled Carrots and Green Beans (Dragon Tongue will work!)
Coming Up next Week (Our best guess…..) Cilantro, Jalapeño, Tomatoes, Delicata Squash, Potatoes, Sweet Peppers, Dragon Tongue Beans and more!
