Farm News

These past 2 weeks have been a whirlwind of dirt, sun, hustle and plants. . . lots of plants. We managed to get everything we started from seed (starting way back in February for some stuff!) planted! Spring can be a tough time to get everything planted in a timely manner, but this year it has worked out for us. It helps that the second half of April has been nice and dry, and we have been lucky to receive so much help and support from our family so that we can clock some long days! So far we have around 3 acres planted to a wide variety of vegetables including potatoes, onions, broccoli, radishes, lettuce, spinach, kale, beets, swiss chard, mustard, cabbage, bok choi, sugar snap peas, kohlrabi, fennel, dill, cilantro, cauliflower, carrots and turnips. Doubling our CSA by adding a delivery day means that we still have CSA shares available. Sign up today to claim your share of these delicious organic vegetables!

We are all caught up on planting and can focus our energy on maintaining these crops. They’ll need to be watered, weeded, and side dressed with organic fertilizer and compost. By the end of May we should be enjoying the first fruits of our labor! Meanwhile we’re also busy preparing for all the crops that will be ready to plant next week and the week after…and the week after that! We hope that you can make it to our Open House on Sunday May 1 from 1 to 5. Drop in any time and bring the whole family!
