Scallions, also known as bunching onions, green onions, or spring onions, are onions that do not develop a bulb. They are milder then regular onions and can be used raw or cooked. The green tops are often used as a garnish and taste similar to chives. If using raw, scallions make great additions to potato, egg, tuna, or chicken salad and go wonderfully with spring rolls and tacos.
