SAVE THE DATE!
Our annual CSA member field walk will be Tuesday August 6th from 7 pm to 8:30 pm . The rain date will be Wednesday the 7th 7 pm to 8:30 pm and we’ll keep you posted via email about any changes. We love having CSA members out the farm to see where their produce is grown and packed. We’ll check out the crops we are harvesting and see what’s still to come and answer any of your questions! Bring the whole family or friends you’ve shared your produce with. Wear shoes that can get dirty and are comfortable (strollers aren’t really navigable around the farm). Hope to see you there!
Farm News
In between our summer vegetable harvests of green beans, sweet corn, tomatoes and more, we are busy planting and seeding for the fall! Last week was all about planting and we did so on three different days in three different fields. Brassicas are a vegetable family (broccoli, kale, radishes, cauliflower) that mature in the cooler shoulder months of the farm season so we see them in the first boxes and the last boxes of the season. We planted our fall round of brassicas and other cool loving crops- escarole, dill, chard- last week. We also continue with regular plantings of salad mix and got the final round of sweet corn for year in as well. In addition to planting, there are crops that get directly sown into the ground and our big block of fall carrots was able to be seeded by Ben this weekend.
Recipes
Roasted Vegetable Enchilada Casserole (eggplant, sweet corn, and peppers would be good veggies to use)
Sweet corn, tomato and green bean succotash
Cucumber Chickpea Salad (parsley works in place of mint and sweet onion in place of red onion)

Coming Up Next Week (our best guess….) Carrots, beets, tendersweet cabbage, sweet onions, zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, watermelon, jalapeño peppers
